David Berlow has written his proposal for using a PERM Table. This counts Font Bureau out of the above list of foundries which support the .webfont proposal. Jeffrey Zeldman likes the idea of this proposal. Perhaps this will spell another split in the ranks. It seems to me the more proposals put forth — ergo the more dissension in the ranks* — the harder it will be to get it put through. Or am I missing something?
It’s all so confusing.
An associate pointed out a potential fallacy in my previous post. That being the fact that without Linotype/Monotype one really can’t say there is that much weight behind the #webfont proposal.
*Ranks meaning the type foundries, of course.
